Portable Renewable Energy Platforms

The sun and wind do not necessarily conform to our requirements for power reliability in mission critical applications.

However, it can be used successfully if the total system is designed around the unpredictable nature of the power generation.

Three things must happen; one, the power requirement of the applications must be designed for power efficiency, two, the battery bank must be sized to power the system for a determined period of time, and three, the power generation must be adequate to recharge the battery bank in an acceptable timeframe. This formula is rarely applied to mission critical applications designed to be powered by traditional generators.

One last component provides the confidence that ensures reliability in the field – monitoring. Batteries don’t just die. They slowly lose their charge and eventually quit producing power. All products can be monitored remotely and send an alarm if the batteries are approaching the danger zone. The appropriate action can be taken to bring the batteries up to a safe level.

When the systems are designed properly, monitored and managed, the risk of failure is drastically reduced.
